Some evening distorted synth sound design/self-prescribed Sonic therapy. The SEM is hands-down one of my favorite analog voices, paired with the DS-1 is pure screaming fun. I’ve been meaning to spend some more time with the carbon sequencer, so I did. I just found out about the “Pianobook collective sample project” and was inspired by the “The 9000ft Piano” available for the Prophet X. Downloaded and made this little improv noodle. I tracked the drums last month as a slow tempo experiment 48/96 bpm. So I took the opportunity to abuse the @audioscapeaudio D-Comp/Buss compressors. I’ve been meaning to set up various ambient mics around this facility for some time now (19 years or so). I have some drum tracking lined up to record and finally got around to giving this a go beforehand. I set up a basic Kick/Snare/Hat kit and six different mic locations. Some more successful than others. The video cuts between the mic setups to showcase the results.

Got together with the @androidlust crew for a “Live in Studio” performance. I love being able to experiment with non-standard setups.
